Not always. Converting JPEG to a lossless format like PNG keeps the original quality but may increase file size. Converting to WebP, AVIF, or HEIC uses lossy compression, but ConvertFT preserves as much quality as possible while often reducing file size.

We support converting individual images up to 30MB in size or with a total pixel count of up to 250 million pixels for high-definition imagery. If you have larger image requirements, feel free to reach out, and we'll strive to accommodate your needs.

JPEG uses a lossy compression algorithm, which means some image data is lost during the original JPEG encoding process. If you need true lossless output, formats like PNG are recommended. However, the ConvertFT JPEG Converter preserves the original quality of your uploaded image during conversion. The tool does not further reduce quality or apply additional compression unless you choose to adjust the settings manually.

To reduce file size, the ConvertFT JPEG Converter removes EXIF metadata by default.If you want to keep the original EXIF data, simply uncheck the “Strip metadata” option in the advanced settings panel before converting your image. This will ensure your output file retains camera information, GPS data, and other metadata.
